Faculty: OAKS – Rubrics (v10.3)

A rubric is a way of grading a user’s performance on assignments by criteria and levels of achievement.  Rubrics can be used to assess items in the Discussion, Dropbox, Quizzing, and Grades tools.  You can create both Analytic and Holistic rubrics.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  • RUBRICS: CREATING RUBRICS IN VARIOUS TOOLS — Learn which tools can utilize the OAKS Rubrics and how to add them in these tools.
  • RUBRICS: CREATING AN ANALYTIC RUBRIC — Learn how to create an analytic rubric in OAKS.  Analytic rubrics may use a points, custom points or text only scoring method. Points and custom points analytic rubrics may use both text and points to assess performance; with custom points, each criterion may be worth a different amount of points.
  • RUBRICS: CREATING A HOLISTIC RUBRIC — Learn how to create a holistic rubric in OAKS.  Holistic rubrics allow you to assess participants’ overall achievement on an activity or item based on a single criteria using predefined achievement levels.
  • RUBRICS: VIEWING A RUBRIC’S STATISTICS — Learn how to view the rubric statistics that are recorded for each rubric association.
